Jason Holley was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, and to this day can’t figure whether to claim Northernmost Florida or Southernmost Alabama. Jason was always tinkering with gadgets and mechanics, and loved cars and motorcycles. Being a little too smart for his own good, and the fact he had a 30 year old’s beard at 12, he began hanging out in tough crowds at a very early age. This had him spending time in tattoo shops at the tender age of 16, eventually becoming roommates with an amateur tattooer. This is how Jason got his first tattoos, and it was love at first sight.
He spent a few years roaming on his motorcycle, getting in and out of scrapes, until he convinced some surly characters at a local shop to give him an apprenticeship. Within a year of completion, he was headed for the warm sun and sandy beaches of Palm Beach County. Divine comedy led him to a life with a wife and three daughters.
He tattooed in south Florida for over a decade before finding the friends he now calls brothers, Shane Woodward, Jason Mills, and Paul Holland. Jason opened Black Pelican Tattoo with Shane, and looks forward to having many guest artists and friends from around the country come visit. Jason enjoys Western and Eastern traditional tattooing, as well as fishing. A lot of fishing. No, seriously, guys. Like, A LOT of fishing.
